Who's behind this

I live in Boquete, Panamá and cup coffees every day. I'm offering exposure and access to coffees from a wide range of producers, with different stylistic impressions, classics and new-age, Geisha and varietals.

I cup with 20+ different farms, I do quality control and share my notes with them, and I support them with sales and marketing, providing access to international buyers, from large-scale roasters needing full container volumes for their house blends, to nano-roasters and competitors who need just a few kilograms of top offerings.

My name is Cole Torode. I'm a Best of Panama International Judge, a three-time Canadian National Champion, and a coffee entrepreneur of 16 years. I'm halfway through my WSET Level 4 Diploma and I really like coffee, especially Panama Geisha.

How we source

From Panamá to your roastery

  1. Driving the mountain roads between partner farms in Chiriquí.

    Source

We keep close relationships with the farms. Sharing feedback, growing together, and earning first access to their best lots.

  2. A cupping table set with bowls and a kettle, being scored at a farm in Panamá.

    Evaluate

Each year we cup over 2,000 coffees across our partner farms, tasting as much of every harvest as we can so we can select only the best for you.

  3. Sacks of parchment coffee stacked in the warehouse, being moved for milling.

    Beneficio

Your coffee stays in pergamino or bellota as long as possible to preserve quality and freshness. The farm then mills it to grano oro, and we hold it at our facility to consolidate your order for shipping.

  4. Cupping and grading a lot before it is prepared for export.

    Export

Everything comes through our warehouse first. You're buying from Forward, prepared and export ready, with all the paperwork and permits handled for you.

  5. A cupping spoon lifted from a bowl of coffee during final quality control.

    Deliver

Green coffee to almost anywhere in the world. Trusted carriers, careful handling, and coffee that arrives safely and in perfect condition.

The 1kg program

The best things come in small packages

The best Panamanian lots are small to begin with. We break ours down to single kilograms, so a nano-roaster or a competitor can put something exceptional on the menu.

How the 1kg program works

A producer's cupped hands holding freshly picked red coffee cherries.

The 2026 harvest

Yields are down 30%+ across the country, but a cool, delayed harvest in Chiriquí is producing sugary, dense coffees that show wonderful complexity and nuance in the cup. Though yields are low, the quality of the crop is shaping up for very high potential.
